biking in Asheville?

Besides the Biltmore grounds, are there any good places to bike in Asheville?

biking in Asheville?

Sure is. Drive about 40 minutes south into the Pisgah National Forest. Some of the best mountain biking in the east is located there. If you are not into mountain biking, try cycling on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Look for Jim Parnhams Off the Beaten Path Mountain Bike Books for details on the trails. Some of my favorite are in the North Mills River area which is about 15 miles or so south of Biltmore.

Have fun

Although there are a lot of bicyclists I really wouldn%26#39;t say that there are many good/safe places to bike. Of course I%26#39;m spoiled by having lived near Rock Creek Park in MD and DC. That being said, there is a bike lane near Amboy Park that goes along Riverside drive for a few miles before it turns into a 2 lane w/o a bike lane. There is a circular bike track in Amboy Park. Many people bike in the Bent Creek and Arboreteum (entry fee) areas.
