We are visting the 2nd week of May. We will have our 2 pugs (a little hyper) and my mother who is capable of getting around but does use oxygen for some breathing issues. That said, I%26#39;m looking for some outdoor places to visit which provide great views/sites to see that are easy to walk (i.e., not too much elevation climb) and also that allow dogs.
Also appreciated would be any restaurants that you know of that are good, would have outdoor seating in May and allow dogs on the patio.
If you know of any other pet friendly activities or dog parks, that would be great too.
thank you in advance!!!
Pet friendly vacation
I own a shop in the Town of Dillsboro. We are a pet friendly shopping village about 45 minutes west of Asheville of US 74 and US 441. Most the place is flat and easy to navigate. Come early though as parking is limited unless you have a handicap parking permit, then you have slightly better odds of finding a spot. Dillsboro does not have a lot of eateries, we have a few. If you go to the town%26#39;s web site you can get a better feel for the place if you have not been there before. It may or may not be worth the drive depending on what you are seeking.
Downtown Asheville is hilly and may limit your walking. Biltmore Village is nice too and a tad flatter. I am not sure how dog friendly either are. We visit there and leave the dogs at home and I have never realy noticed folks with dogs. Next time I will try to pay attention.
Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info..i will check out your town. We are interested in looking around the area so the drive isn%26#39;t a problem...neither is a little hilly walking as my mom is in good shape -- just gets winded easily.
Interesting that you haven%26#39;t noticed many pets. I see that Asheville was rated in the top 100 pet friendly cities in the U.S. I hope that%26#39;s the case.
The Asheville area is VERY dog friendly. Many shops allow dogs, some have water bowls out front, many of the restaurants w/ outdoor seating will allow you to bring your dog....the reviews were right. We have dog parks...a doggie bakery...dog friendly B%26amp;B%26#39;s...
