Great Smokey Mountains cabin or cottage

Planning a trip to the Cataloochee Valley area of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. Cove Creek Road just off US 276 and south of the I-40 interchange. We would like to stay in a comfortable, not too rustic cabin or cottage. Anyone familiar with that area who could give us a recommendation?

I%26#39;ve never stayed in their cabins, but Boyd%26#39;s Christmas Tree Farm is just down the road on 276 going back towards Maggie Valley. If you are coming from Cove Creek Rd., turn right on Hemphill Rd., cross Jonathan Creek, then turn left.

Again, I%26#39;ve never stayed there, but we buy our Christmas trees there and we%26#39;ve always admired the beauty of the area and cabins. They are a bit rustic, however. They may not be what you are looking for. Here%26#39;s a picture of the farm I have in my profile:

The farm website is:

Have a great trip!

How long are you planning to stay in the area? If it is just a night or 2 Maggie Valley is ideal.

If you are staying a little longer and want to visit other parts of the mountains, then check out lodging options in Dillsboro, Cherokee and Bryson City. Bryson City is about an hour away from the Cataloochee while Dillsboro is maybe 35 minutes.

Cataloochee is beautiful and enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the input thus far. Planning a 2 night stay, the nearer the better.

Giggy:

Go to a web site called VRBO and search for place in Maggie Valley if you already have not done so. The State of North Carolina also has web site where you can get lodging info from them - state%26#39;s travel and tourism website. VisitNC.com I think.

Cabin owners like me who join their chamber of commerce or the regional travel and tourism group called Smoky Mountain Host are on the state%26#39;s web site. Smoky Mountain Host is another web site to look up too(which is another web site to check out, I think it is something like greatsmokies.org) Anyway, those sources should get you a nice place to stay in Maggie. Enjoy your trip.

Mission accomlished. Thanks to all who have taken the time to help me on this quest.
