We stayed at the Gateway Inn in November and what an eye opener! I am not sure who rates these hotels, but this is more like a one star if that! The entrance didn%26#39;t appear too bad until you passed from the lobby and walked to what I assume was the elevator. This hotel looks more like a barricks! The rooms are all open to the outside walkway and very noisy. Our toilet plugged and overflowed and we were told we had to come down and get a plunger and repair it ourselves. It continued to overflow and when we reported it again the next day to a maintenance man who just happened to be passing by, he didn%26#39;t know a thing about it. The room was sticky and not cleaned well and the filters on the airconditioner/heater were black with who knows what type of bacteria. The lobby is locked at 11pm and if something happens during that time - I%26#39;m not sure how any one gets in to help you and no one would come out of the locked lobby. That should have been one of the omens that led us to another hotel, but unfortunately when I called 14 other hotels the next day, many were completely booked or the rooms were $100.00 or more just for a double. We learned the hard way not to just trust the rating! I have never stayed at such a dump and will not stay there again!!
Wellons Gateway Inn Not a Gateway At All
I have stayed at the Gateway Inn many times and have never had any problems. Yes the lobby is closed at 11pm but there was a desk clerk in the lobby all you had to do was ring the door bell. Also about the hallways all being outside that is not true I stayed in a room that my door opened to an inside hallway. Sorry that you had a bad stay but I recommend this hotel to all of my friends all of the time and I will continue to.
