I need help finding a vacation home in the Beaufort area. We have decided we do not want to be on the beach, but on the sound or some other waterway. Our children are looking forward to walking our of the rental home and start fishing. We love the little town of Beaufort, but haven%26#39;t found many rental homes there. I am considering Harkers Island, but have never been there and am a little leary of making a week reservation for an island we%26#39;ve never been to.
Any suggestions? We are looking for a vacation home on the water that accommodates at least 6 people.
Thanks so much for your suggestions!!
Summer 2008 Vacation to Beaufort area
Beaufort Realty has the most listings in town (http://www.beaufortrlty.com/). I haven%26#39;t stayed with them, but we visit down there often. From the outside, there properties look fine.
Summer 2008 Vacation to Beaufort area
Hi,
Our family has lived in Beaufort for the past 10 years and have many of our family has used Eddy Myers Realty-www.eddymyers.com/ and Beaufort Realty when coming to visit. Eddy Myers offers a
wide range of rentals near the water front in Beaufort. Harkers Island is nice, but about 20 minutes down east of Beaufort. Not much to do there. It would be hard to keep kids occupied for a week without getting in the car a lot.
If you are considering restaurants, shopping, site seeing , biking, walking, and fishing in Taylors Creek then I would stay in Beaufort. There is a public dock right in the center of town where the kids can fish. Also, nice, long, newer public dock right at base of Beaufort/Morehead City Bridge that offers fishing opportunities.
Hope it helps. Let me know if you need any other info.
