Are the Pinehurst Resort and the Carolina Hotel two different properties? The on-line photos - and even a golf logo - look the same, but I recall only one BIG hotel there in Pinehurst...and now I am confused as to the name of the place I%26#39;d like to stay. I want to stay at the big white, ';grand'; hotel with the big front porch, rocking chairs, and you drive up on a circular driveway. Embarassed to say I%26#39;m just up the road in Greensboro but don%26#39;t have a clue on this - obviously I%26#39;m NOT a golfer!

Pull up www.pinehurst.com/ That absolutely gorgeous hotel with the columns and orangey roof is the Carolina.
Below the pictures, in that burnt umber bar is the word ';accommodations';. Click on that. You will then see a variety of accommodations including specifics, accolades and photo. The Carolina is one of them.
That%26#39;s our favorite too. Don%26#39;t worry about golfing. There%26#39;s the roads that wind through piney neighborhoods and communities to explore; the quaint historic town shopping; the fabulous spa including pool; just walking the sandy soil; afternoon tea in the Carolina lobby; penning a note in the same lobby on complementary (hopefully still so) logo paper at the antique writing desks...the list goes on. On that same bar under the photos also click on recreation for lots to do.

The Carolina is what you want, go for the Spa treatment. You will love it. The resort has several other properties: the Holly and the Manor. The Carolina is the grand hotel.
Spa treatments would be wonderful, but I%26#39;m going there for a wedding and doubt that I%26#39;ll have time to squeeze in such a relaxing indulgence and then be able to show up for the ceremony! Maybe another time.
O, too bad! the Spa is the ONLY reason we go to Pinehurst ( gasp heard from golfers! LOL).
