Inexpensive but nice hotel near good restaurants & shopping?

Hello,

We will be in Charlotte in March and wanted to know if some one knew of a fairly inexpensive hotel (around$100 per night) that is near or in walking distance to interesting cafe%26#39;s/restaurants and some interesting shopping? Thank you very much!!

Downtown Charlotte? Not likely. Perhpas just north of Charlotte in Huntersville (Birkdale Village area), may work. Another option is in Concord (Speedway blvd)...Concord Mills area (though I wouldn%26#39;t consider the shopping or restaurants very interesting in that area).

Doubletree Guest Suites/Southpark is very nice!

Right beside mall, shopping, resturants.

I stayed there three years ago...huge 2 room suite,w/kitchen, $97/night (this was in Jan. though)

I%26#39;m sure rates for March would be good too.

There%26#39;s also a Hampton Inn in the SouthPark area at Phillips Place...and the Hyatt sometimes runs good specials if you are there on the weekend.

If you are interested in staying in the Uptown area, you can bid on Priceline and more than likely get a nice room for under $100 a night. On our last visit to Charlotte in the fall, we ended up getting a room at the Omni for $92.00 (including all taxes). Well worth the money, great location. The other hotels in Uptown you might end up with are the Hilton, Westin or the Marriott. Those are the four star hotels at Priceline.

Be advised that there is little shopping in uptown.
