Nice Hotel with a on site Restaurant/Bar

Hi Everyone,

I need to find a nice Hotel that has an onsite restaurant and/or a bar. My wife and I will be driving up tomorrow night to do some shopping and visit the Flea market at the Fairgrounds on Saturday. We will be arriving around 8pm and would rather not have to get back in the car and drive somewhere. I would rather not go too far west past the fairgrounds. We also would consider somewhere east of Raleigh on I-40 since that is the direction we will be traveling from. We don’t need a loud party place, just a nice place to sleep, eat, and maybe a nice bar for a drink.

I have read a few reviews on the Sheraton. It seems to fit what we are looking for, but the reviews I have found say they are undergoing a renovation. Has anyone stayed there recently?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Which Sheraton?

If you%26#39;re talking about the main Sheraton in downtown Raleigh, I don%26#39;t know of any renovations there. There is convention center construction down the block but that%26#39;s all I know of.

You should consider them as an option for your needs. They%26#39;re about 3 miles from the Flea Market/Fairgrounds area. They have a secure parking deck, I believe. And they have the onsite bar %26amp; restaurant. Also, if the restaurant isn%26#39;t to your liking there%26#39;s at least a dozen or so other places within a very short walking distance...giving you plenty of options and variety. So you still can avoid that driving as you mention.

I have not stayed at the Sheraton, but it is downtown, and downtown is a mess right now. There is construction everywhere, and it can get messy in that area during heavy traffic times. I would suggest one of the hotels around the Crabtree mall area. There are a couple across the street, and beside and behind the mall, and they are within walking distance to the mall, which has a PF Changs, Ruby Tuesday%26#39;s, Kanki Japanese Steakhouse, and Cheesecake Factory. The Homewood Suites would be my top choice, then maybe the Embassy Suites...both right across from the mall, and all of that is located within 10 minutes from the flea market mall area.

^Um....Traffic around the mall area less congested than Downtown on a Saturday??

You must not live in the same Raleigh as I do! ;-P

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. We went ahead and stayed at the Sheraton Downtown. It was just what we were looking for. Mapquest did a great job giving us directions around the new civic center construction site.

Stay away from Embassy suites see my review to much money and they nickel and dime you to death
