Battleship North Carolina???

We will be in the Wilmington area in the middle of June, my 14 year old son is dying to tour this ship (he is a huge WWII history buff), but I was wondering how hot and crowded it be in June? Any suggestions on what day or what time of day to go to avoid the largest crowds? Thanks.

Battleship North Carolina???

My sons enjoyed touring the battleship. It is very informative and supposedly haunted. It does get quite warm so go early in the day. It can get quite crowded on the weekends but not so much during the week.

I agree, it was just steaming when you went down to the compartments under the ship. I thought some older folks were going to have a heart attack.

We went on a Wednesday before noon, July 3rd, not too bad of a crowd first thing in the AM. Your son will enjoy the displays in the museum there.

Watch out for the alligators in the water-we saw 2!

Thanks for the info, I%26#39;ll be sure to go during the week, and get there no later than 9:00am.

Also make sure to wear sneakers or sensible shoes. This was a working battleship and you don%26#39;t want to try to navigate it wearing flip-flops.

Hot and steamy! I have fond memories of feeding popcorn to the gators below the ship. Enjoy.

.. and if you are going to be in the area near dark, bring bug spray.

Why are the mosquitoes bad???

Yes, esp around water.

The mosquito is the NC state bird, lol.
