Is the Outer Banks a good vacation location if you are traveling with teenagers? We are trying to find a vacation for this summer and are having a difficult time.

Not sure what you are looking for, but I think OBX is a great place for the entire family. In the Kill Devil Hills/Nags Head area there is a movie theater, bowling alley, outlet shops, mini golf, go karts, and of course the beach.

Between this site and that one, you will be an OBX encyclopedia before you ever get there. It sure helps beat the winter blahs by looking at all that warmth! Good luck! You got a good website to try by the previous poster. Teh Corolla area is nice too if you don%26#39;t want to feel too crowded. They have the TimbuckII plaza with some choices for things to do.
Last year was my first time and I%26#39;m addicted!
Have your kids look at these 2 websites and let them decide if they want to go - www.SunnyDayGuide.com and www.VGNet.com We%26#39;re heading down in August for our seventh time. We always find new stuff for the kids to do. Take a look at some of my older posts. I%26#39;ve listed dozens of things to do and places to visit. There is no boardwalk like some of the other east coast beaches, but you%26#39;ll find plenty to keep everyone happy.

I think they will have a good time. It%26#39;s not hectic and commercialized like Myrtle Beach, SC. My daughter is 17 and has been going there for years and looks forward to it each year. There is plenty to do - but of course, the beach and pool is where we like to spend a lot of time. There is an outlet mall (if they are girls), all types of water sports rentals, light houses, wild horses, golf, small go cart track, pier fishing, fishing off the beach, charter boat fishing, crabbing, etc.
